I do understand the idea of making parties important, but not at the expense of a scaling. I have to admit that simply chopping experience by 4 with a party of 4 is not reality, because you learn by participating better than experimenting. But you shouldn't learn faster in a group doing a portion of a task then if you attempt to do the entire task yourself. |
Ok, what you are posting there is logical. But NWN is a game with magic, which isnt logical at all. We shouldnt try to make as much logical as possible at any cost.
The experience per time wont be much greater in party even if we used "my" calculation. As I already pointed out, the more players are in a party, the more often you ve to wait for someone.
And with the knowledge that you get less experience per time and have to share dropps, players rather decide to solo, or to hunt in 2-player groups.
Somehow it seems to me you cant decide. You tell us that you want to speed up lvling a bit and that you like the idea of encouraging parties. But then you dont like the solution for both problems since its unlogical? If its up to me, lets have again 100% base XP, and the same XP in party no matter how many player if you cant bear the 125% in party.
You should really have no penality for helping new/other players or enjoying huge parties.
But well, lets leave it like that if I remain the only one being not really happy with the current solution |

I agree with Aule.
If you're in a party you'll kill things quicker, so you can do more places. Hence gain more xp per time. I was in a 4 person party and we did both acid towers, cracks, and that place under cirith (name escapes me) in the same time it would've taken me to do acids solo. Now I lvld, and got a significant portion of my next level in that time.
Incidentally, that's why i group. I group because you can do harder places with a safety net. I group because I get more xp per hr than if i solo. I group cause it's more fun to be in a group with people than to run around by yourself.
I do not group to get drops.
If I'm online and people want to group let me know. I have several chars almost all of which are at different levels. I can grab one that's closer to your level and we can hit somewhere. |

i also strongly encourage the thought to support any newbie - its hard to start from zero - so far, i have endured every wipe in arda - i know what it is so start w/o money and w/o gear.
I got enough double or even triple items on my mules to suit a newbie so he has a good standard for the beginning (good items and some gp).
i ll continue this way - as long as i have the gear spare, i ll share it with noobies
my msg to others: plz do the same - its for arda! ('') _________________ May my Sword shine in battle with courage and honour.
