If you are new to the server, here is some vital information for you:
The forum registration is somewhat problematic at the moment, and in order to be able to post here, register the usual way and we will try our best to accept you.. If we cant a new website is currntly been built!
Once received your email, one of the site admins activate your account, and you are good to go and post on the forums!
Connecting to the Lands of Arda server
The game server cannot be found on any of the NWN game lobbies and you are required to use the direct connect way to log in to the server. (Select multiplayer, then Direct Connect once the server menu comes up and enter the IP address below to join the server- do not worry about error messages you recieve after clicking multiplayer)

In order to play Lands of Arda you also need the following hakpacks available from the following locations:

Instructions for setting up the hakpacks:
The first 4 files linked above are set up to self extract, simply load them up and tell them to extract into whatever directory Neverwinter nights is installed in. (overwrite any files if you are prompted)
The fith file above simple needs unzipping (with a program like winzip or winrar) and the resultant file (that has the extension .Hak needs moving into the HAK folder within your Neverwinter Nights folder)
The sixth File once again needs unzipping once you have downloaded it and the resultant files when you unzip it need to go in the following locations :
The .hak files in the /patch directory go into your /patch directory inside your neverwinter nights install (biorural, biosnow, biomines, bio interior, bioforest)
The nwnpatch.ini file must be copied into you main neverwinter nights directory (overrwrite the one already there)
the remaining 4 .hak files go into your /hak folder of your NWN install (wrm seasonal, wrn fantasy, ¬wildwoods, bugfix)
The seventh file (Ardaupdate_ver_670) needs unzipping and the files in the hak directory copied to your Neverwinter Nights Hak directory. The files from the download in the Override directory need to be moved to your Neverwinter Nights override directory OVERWRITING ANY FILES WHEN PROMPED TO DO SO!
The 8th and Latest patch simply needs downloading and unzipping. All the individual files in the override directly need to be copied into your Neverwinter Nights override directory and the files from the HAK folder need to be copied into your Neverwinter Nights hak directory
PLEASE NOTE: You must have the Files DIRECTLY inside the override and HAK folders... They must not still be in a directory.... Easiest is to extract the download somewhere then manually select and drag the files directly into the correct folder.
Congratulations you are now ready to join the massive multiplayer online world of Arda!!
For those who are experiencing huge lag in game menus with Radeon cards, here's a thread containing solution

Np Vine, I just sent the hak to you
Thanks to Thor the current Arda server should have all the old chars in the player vault. I only logged in shortly and my vault was full of chars |

Before I start playing again...... I want to ask the question "How long will this server stay up". Arda has been on and off again for 10 years with different hosts. It would be nice to have it consistently up with one IP address. I don't see it having a player base(new and old) if it will be offline in a month. |

i will keep the server up as long as people wanna play if someone else is interested in hosting with a dedicated high-speed server with static IP, that's an even better option, but costs money of course. if for some reason i can't host anymore, the server vault can always be saved and moved along to the next host. but i am hoping this server can be up for awhile! -energon
btw, my IP doesn't seemed to have changed in a week, so that's good. also, since we are on NWNlist now, it should update automatically should the IP change. |
