The sky isn't white. White is the clouds which are water vapor and crystals. Our brains translate the visible light emitted by our local G0 star, filtered through our atmosphere into the color we call blue. When the sky is orange or red, that's dust, typically silicon particles.

The divine right of kings vs. the divine agency of the Pope summarizes the source of conflicts in the Dark Ages. We may argue as materialists, claiming that divinity is a fallacious condition because it is a religious fantasy or we may argue as fundamentalists and claim that man's wordly creations are never holy.
It wasn't Roman because this empire followed the collapse of the Roman Empire and Italia had since withdrawn her forces from abroad, abandoning the provinces.
Empire is a misnomer because the Pope did not take the title Emperor or serve precisely as such, however see divine right of kings, which dates back to civilization's beginning, versus divine agency of the Papery, a newer creation. The conflicts of the Dark Ages were practically about the Papacy attempting to dominate kingdoms very much like an emperor. Also, the name Holy Roman Empire hints at this attitude of rule over all from the holy seat at Rome. |
