The Lands of Arda

Many thanks to everyone involved in bringing the Lands of Arda back online! I started playing here years (decade?) ago and got my brothers playing. Played through the Madwack era, the wipe and new team. We are all playing again, and besides Thorsson everyone is playing characters with the Genar surname.

This was always our favorite NWN server and we are are having a great time. It is amazing how much I remember and also how much I have forgot, lol.

Over the past few weeks as we have been playing and see the lack of a player base, the best suggestion we offer is for the DM's to increase the drop rates on bosses slightly.

i agree with Thorssons suggestion. trading is hardly possible due to
a) the low number of players online at the same time
b) the fact that the many old player which had a big stock, do not play anymore

raising up the drop rate could make a nice difference, and a benefit to all remaining players

Amanar did a full run of the southern citadels this morning leveling and collecting keys, he got a total one drop, a Ring of Elements, and that's it.

Like I reminded him this afternoon, that is business as usual on Arda. Wink

He did hit 26!

I would love to see the drop rates altered...but...

Having spent a LOAD of time wandering through the mod editing and searching for items and locations, I can say that it would be a HUGE task to alter all the drop rates. Even if you restricted it to the bosses that drop forge items, and leave alone the ones that don't have them.

Also there are several different drop scripts.

It's not a short task.

hey Thor ^^ pretty much what Ex said. it's lots of work and Arda is pretty screwy under the hood, lol. however i will do my best to make adjustments. in the latest update i increased the Sealord drop rates as Amanar requested. just let me know which bosses in particular to look at and i will! i suppose pretty much all the southern ones, huh...

No need to hurry. we all know that arda is a big world with many bosses.
i dont think great changes need to occur immediately.

Good opportunities to get items "fast" are granted when summoning the nazes or sauron at tol falas . we just need to have a strong party and enough ord's

u need an item (not sure about the name) to summon sauron.

This item is made of 4 ARD (ancient rusting dagger) and one PRD (Primordial rusting dagger)

an ARD is made of 10 ORD
a PRD is made of 10 fire res amies

so if u want to have fun with sauron, the 9 nazes and some other minions (S+F with dispell on hit) you gonna need:
- 40 ord
- 10 fire res amies
- a strong/big party (mages will have to rest for sure durring the battle)
- a lot of rez scrols, heals and tons of SS protection (Sauron has area with harm - mind the S+F with dispell!)

While messing around with item finding I spawned a sauron to have a little fight with....I did about 2-3 damage every hit and didn't get him to barely injured after about 10 mins....

Or in other words...you're gonna need a lot of time...
