I intend to finish the dark tower in the coming months and discussing what should be in (besides Sauron^^) will be really helpful
One thing is the difficulty. Somehow it should be the hardest place on Arda. On the other hand, that means that we would only rarely find partys able to handle it. So what do you think?
Rather make it a place like the Elves in Ered Harmal which is hard but well doable by advanced parties?
Or make it have 2 parts, with the first having a difficulty comparable to Ered Harmal and the second one really at the limit.
Or the whole area at the limit.
So far I´d prefer the 2nd option. Like this I could still keep the area large and the time required to clean it under 2.5 -3 hours (including fight vs Sauron).
And what kind of mobs and fights do you expect? One suggestion may be that melee mobs should be rather handled by pc-casters and caster mobs by melee pcs for example. Including the use of Creeping Doom, Bigbies and stuff like that. And disrupting nasty ennemy casters by massive melee damage. |

That's a tough one.
While I'd like to see it finished, I'm painfully aware that I'll probably never make it there as I'm rarely on long enough, or when there are enough people around.
I agree it should be mad hard, and as such should only be doable by 3-4+ in a party.
One thing that should be said is that if it is mad hard and only do-able by 3-4+ in a party it should be more rewarding than other places. High XP gain and higher drop rate than we're used to. If I ever manage to join a group and battle all the way to the end, defeat Sauron and all we have for it is an ORD, I'd never bother with the place again. |
