I have been around with praying actions and looked for the old Arda forums to see how they work (praying mats), but, unfortunately, the old forums doesn't exist anymore.

I remember there was a specific thread explaining how it works and what you can do to improve your chances...

Is there anybody able to add the related information or has, by any chance, access to the old information?

Smile

I do remember that have cleric/paladin levels rises the chances to be heard, and, in the same way, if you have one condition equal to the mats, for example: if you are good and the god's mat é good too, chaotic to chaotic etc.

Hi Bido!

I used them to change my monk from good to evil. You can only pray once per mat per reset...I think. I used the 4 in the temple in Bonish-dar, and it worked every time, so no idea how you would improve your chance.

Another player told me that mats were changed to let you pray more then once in a Arda day?

Staff, is that right? Smile

Well, some informations of last hour about this thread:

1. You can pray in any mats you want, any time, but you can be heard only once in every mat in an Arda day;

2. If your char has any cleric or paladin level, you have more chances to be heard, above anyone else;

3. This part is the only one which I don't remember for sure...

Mats have more two conditions (besides cleric/paladin levels) that helps you to be heard if you have the same conditions. So, if you have at least one condition, you have a better chance to heard. If you have both contiditons, the chances are better. Example: the mat is lawful evil and you are evil; the mat is chaotic good and you are chaotic etc.

In the old thread in the NVN 1 forums about this subject there was percentual of every condition, which I don't have. In ignvault we can find a script similar that says a cleric/paladin char has about 80% to be heard...

If I can recall right, the mats script where adapted by Aule to Arda but I can't say for sure.

When you pray you win some benefits, like a bit of xp (40xp to me all the time), beside some other good effects in the same way a bless spell and aid spell.

Anyone else has any other bit of information?

I had pray a lot this last days, trying to change from LG to NN and then back to LG. Sometimes, in a arda day, I have luck to be heard every time I tried in Mythlond (there are 3, LG, NN and CG), in Rivendell (same 3, LG, NN and CG) and Minas Tirith (same 3, LG, NN and CG).

Bree has only one (CG) and the same with Edoras (CG).

Bonish-dar has 6, all LE.

Probably, elven places has all 3 (LG, NN and CG), good human places CG and evil human places LE.

Someone has to map all mats yet. I do remember some temples/places outside main cities have mats too but I can't remember wich ones.

Ahhh you faithless folks....

...welcome to the hard world of changing alignment. - i have to endure this too Sad

changing good-evil can be done while killing NPC too. but all NPC will attack you if u dare taking this path... so no safe travelling in towns - until reboot (reset).

you can also shift alignment while killing other players. killing an evil char will take you 2 points to good (and vice versa).

killing eduril (witch in mysterious tower) in senri will also shift alignment towards good.

if a char succeeds in praying a god this will affect ALL party members, so collective prayers are possible / dangerous.
praying char will have a change of 9 points while other party members only between 1 and 3 - but this might help already a lot when once cleric prays several times in the same party.

recommendation: all ppl who want to change alignment in the SAME direction (evil OR good - and - lawful OR chaotic) get in same party and wander around in order to pray all in different parts of the lands.
this guarantees the most quick way to change alignment in my eyes. making a cleric for this purpose might help a lot...
