I forged the One ring today but the stats are wrong. I think the script is creating a old version of the ring.

Item properties are not script generated. Someone may have changed the item template at some point but I have no way to confirm that. I was never a fan of players forging items specific to any famous character from the novels anyway. |

Regardless, I'm not sure which one I'd choose. That old one or the new one. |

This new one does have some merits. I like the elemental resist and HIPS. Haste is also really neat but moot for a reincarnate character. The ability penalty is fairly high. Maybe only -2 would be fine.
However I was forging it based on the old stats. I wanted the death and mind immunity so that I could free up a helm slot. The +2 to all status is nice. |

+1 as a returning player I found getting the one ring in order to benefit from haste on a non reincarnated character is impossible. or certainly harder then reincarnating.
This should factor into its change. |

The vulnerability is a bit harsh considering Serra's areas mostly do divine and positive damage. The mage bosses cast epic time stop and spam grater ruin. Each ruin does about 300 damage, with the ring it would hit 500+. Most of his mobs do divine damage. There are only 2 items in Arda that I know of that has divine resistance. 5 on angol and the shield that offers 25 damage immunity. The ring would be unusable in these areas.
I prefer the old stats which have been in the game for 10+ years.

This item is supposed to be perilous to posses not purely rewarding without consequences. |

I think with the perilous stats it wouldn't be worth to forge nor wear. Mind and Death immunity can be achieved by a lot of different items. The power level would need to increase significantly to be worth the downside. Such as immunity 100 to negative and immunity to harm. Aragorn's warhelm paired with Dior's ring is a lot better than the one ring not to mentioned a lot easier to forge. Also these items are not alignment dependent like the one ring. |

Suggestion.
The One ring is supposed to be an all powerful ring for those that know how to use it. Wearing it in the Books attracts the Nazgul, and it also corrupts those that wear it. That's the perilous part. Making it evil only kinda takes out that part because you're evil, kinda doesn't matter if it corrupts or not.
Could a script be added that if you're wearing the one ring you might randomly spawn a nazgul? Or could putting the ring on cause you to gain evil points?
I agree the vulnerability is harsh, making it not worth the supreme effort that goes into making it. That's the other thing to balance, the effort needed to make it. |

I have a generic ringwraith made who will show up on rare occasions in some future update. I do like the idea of adding evil points as well. Also an occasional eye of sauron effect if in or around mordor.
I would like to get rid of the cold immunity, physical ability bonuses, improved evasion, improved invisibility and evil only requirement. Unlimited standard invisibility was a good change which we can keep. Regeneration can go to +6. Fire, acid and electrical immunity can go to 50%. We'll keep mind and death immunes. But I want to add 50% divine vulnerability.
I'm okay with this being a difficult forge that may not be quite as desirable as before. |

Just a questions on vulnerabilities. Do they stack or overwrite? i.e. if I've got an item on that gives me 50% immunity and I get buffed with an 100% immunity spell, do I have 100% immunity, or do I have 50% immunity?
Depending on the answer to that I'm not sure I'd go through the effort of forging it again...when I eventually have time to play! |
