What sort of builds do you have in mind? I wanted to try another ranger-assassin. A large weapon and shield combo is now possible if you take the monkey grip feat. The sorcerer seems weaker now that we have warlocks who can also UMD.

I totally want to do a rogue based character since I never really had before. Or maybe a bard, they'll be crucial this time around.
Oooo or even a cleric...I know I know, I swore I never would make a cleric, but i'd make healing casting one.

but i'll probably just do my usual and make a paladin or druid

I had play nwn2 in some mods and the game itself...

I will try my old hobbit rogue/assassin something and here and there maybe a ranger something or a bard something too.

The cleric remains a pretty solid class. I have been running a dwarf with the Earth and Fire domains, spell buffed with greataxe or warmace in hand. 3 fireball spells and 60 hp at level 5 is very nice.

I was thinking of utilizing the warpriest class in one of my builds. I was throwing around the idea of one, so I built one in a test module. It was a combo of druid/warpriest, using a bow and zen archery.

Pros:

-Very good attack bonus (17 BAB) with 4 attacks (thanks zen archery and owl's insight, +30/+25/+20/+15 self buffed with a regular longbow).
-Haste 3/day (the bane of pure druids).
-Plenty of buff slots and up to 8th level spells w/ extend spell option.
-Several options of healing (spell slots, warpriest special skills) or damage (call lightning, ice storm, etc).
-Party helper (warpriest auras, battletide, extra buff slots for party members).
-Decent Saves.
-Reasonable AC without relying on dex, can use fullplate and buff barkskin/spiderskin.
-Immunity to poison and web.

Cons:

-Late bloomer: first 7 levels or so can be tough struggles while accumulating the correct feats/attack bonus to meet warpriest requirements.

-Stuck in medium armor with poor dex and limited druid weapon proficiencies until warpriest.

-Decent ranged attacker but offensive spells fall behind due to the 15 caster level max and lack of metamagic/penetration feats.

-Owl's insight doesn't stack with owl's wisdom Sad

-Average, but not amazing HP.

Bards seem pretty powerfull in NWN 2, could give em a shot in Arda 2...atleast should be very usefull in parties. Clerics are again the most powerfull class (im playing cleric/warpriest in OC using greataxe and shield!) but druids arent much behind in power. I quess im making a bard or a druid

PS. I think they made a cleric too powerfull by giving more powers to the domains (like free feats, tougness from earth domain and so on...) Domains should have some weaknesses too to balance things up

As always they're only as powerful as their buffs. One Mordenkainen's = dead cleric.

Though using Anduril and a shield would have been awesome for Eldarion.

Heya,

Well, I'm sure to build Teigan again. He was a weapon-master using dual weild that had very high attack bonus and regeration. The AC was crappy, but within a few rounds most damage was healed back up. That ofcourse depends on the items available. The main thing here is that the Double Bladed swords are gone from NWN2, so I'll be supplanting it with Monkey Grip and two Great Axes. I did a varient of this on the SP campaign, and it worked out damn nice. Besides, having two massive axes just looks awesome. Still might consider dual greatsword, but it just didn't look as neat.

Enjoy,
Aule.
