Hi folks. Has anyone looked at the upcoming Beamdog NWN Enhanced Edition currently in beta? Any interest in converting Arda to NWN:EE? Since it appears Beamdog will be hosting a persistent world server listing with the new edition, I could see this generating new players.

It will work. My concerns are two:

It works with our server host?
Will folks need to buy the NWN:EE to play or will it be backward compatible?

I am paying over 20 bucks a month to host, so if moving to the EE client means players need to spend one time 20 bucks; hopefully that will not be an issue vs NWN getting a new lease on life and Arda possibly getting new players?

My brothers and I have been talking about this and how it will surely bring new players into the best NWN server. If the new client will be required and any current players cannot afford to move over to the Beamdog EE client, we will buy you a copy.

We love Arda, its the best NWN server ever.

Even if they didn't require the new client for it, they're developing it for MAC OS, so I'd buy it to stop me using stupid wrappers to get it working natively on mac anyway!

Key features from the website. Sounds like the previous baldur's gate updates. Just making it run on modern computer correctly, plus a bit of prettying up!

Enhanced Features

Improved Display: Your portrait, combat bar, inventory, and other UI elements adjust in size based on your chosen resolution including 1080p and 4k.

Advanced Graphics Options: Pixel shaders and post-processing effects make for crisper, cleaner visuals. Enable contrast, vibrance, and depth of field options as preferred.

Community Endorsed: Original developers have teamed with key members of the Neverwinter Nights community to curate important fan-requested improvements to support players, storytellers, and modders.

Backwards Compatibility: Works with save games, modules, and mods from the original Neverwinter Nights. A galaxy of community created content awaits.

Our web host already supports NWN:EE. Once Beamdog goes live with the expanded edition we are going to switch the server over. This will likely mean all users buying the new app.

This may an issue, not the new version but the character vault post Bioware. We will figure it out before we migrate, and no way we will before all concerns are resolved.

Having read a bit more around this, it would appear that the 1.69 NWN will not connect to the beamdog version's server types.

I'm going to be getting it. I'm hoping to have more time to play this year! Hopefully the resurrection of the server list will draw some players our way. Just wondering if any of the previous hosters of Arda will think about setting up again?

Finally, do we have a Wiki/guide? If someone can get a copy of the latest mod to me for offline play I'm happy to update the map!
