One Ring
I'm willing to drop the regen and put improved evasion back on.

Regardless of how difficult it is to forge something there have to be limits.
I've been testing a collection of the best items on solid builds and the invulnerability is getting pretty close to complete except for a handful of hardest bosses.
I don't believe we should push in that direction any further because 1) boredom inevitably and 2) the ever growing rift between the partially or poorly equipped and the fully equipped in the hardest areas which can make a party frustrating for some players. We need to dial it back a little. |

Also, the Iron Crown was basically made of the Silmarils, which were created by Fëanor, and so would not be inherently evil, unlike The One Ring, which was forged in hate and anger by Sauron. |
Maybe it was necessary to Illuvatar for them to get lost to history forever because of all the murder, theft and strife over them. Also, the forge in question is Morgoth's hat not the holy gems. |

As a rule I ALWAYS prefer party play to solo. So if that means I can't go places due to having less well equipped players with me, I go to those places. I've only gone to a high end dungeon a couple of times with under-equipped players.
I'm still of the opinion that, given the number of people playing, that being ABLE to solo places with the right gear is a good option. It would be interesting to know what gear you are using, as my lvl 40 with pretty high level gear is by no means invincible if I'm not careful! |

My defender has at least 24 points damage reduction from feats and 20 resist all. With Valkrist shield and Mighty Blow the immunity is 15% or 30% if piercing. He gets harm, death and mind immune, 5 resist magic from the cloak and 15 off elements from Hismir. At 2nd reincarnate no ioun is needed. 67 discipline, equal or higher than most bosses, makes kd or called shot attempts from most bosses fail if they even bother and the boss AI will assess your character to determine if it is worth trying.
Creatures like the Sea Lord, Smaug and the WK in Morgul (obvious party bosses) could crit him down quickly but just about any number of guards from anywhere offer no contest. |

That's fair enough, but that's a very specific char, and I doubt my Human is going to be able to re-spec to Dwarven Defender...
I'm just aware that some previous builders were so obsessed with stoping the power builds that it priced the others out of the market. Some of the items over-power some builds, but aren't nearly as over-powered on others. |

We also need to slightly dial back the party dungeon zones too which is an artifact from 2007 or so.
My thought on the highest end forges is not a linear increment to better stats but a curve toward the top where the gains are marginal but the difficulty getting it stays on the steep increment. You have to go through a lot to eventually get the best but it is only slightly better than the easier forge. |
