Still very busy. Progress is slow but sure. A couple of free days to myself would do it but those have gotten rare. Patience!

In the past month I moved, went on vacation, got a new computer and internet. Still haven't gotten to setting up NWN on the new Windows 10 machine. Will keep you guys posted and will keep rebooting the server every few days until I get set back up.

Next one is still underway. There is still a lot of stuff to work on before next release. Minas Falath gets a minor revamp. GT troll guards will have maces instead of swinging their hands. Scripting for One Ring bearer peril is basically done. New generic ringwraith is made and it should be a nasty encounter for some of us but fairly rare to trigger. Removed some more old creatures and items from the palette. Still trying to reduce quantity of gold dropping everywhere and lock up many loot chests. I'm putting in a repeatable dwarf rune turn in quest for xp at the trollshaws tower when Rugnar wanders inside.

I also want to do something with the silver and mithrarian which accumulate so much but that will wait for a later release. We may use them up as keys for the monster spawner zone people requested. I'm thinking Angmar - Carn Dum - Guild Hall - The Underguild for a location.

Sounds most exiting!

May i ask you to give us further information about the one (final stats) when it updated?

I think having also a quiver with unlimited arrows very interesting. The arrows mustn’t be of the highest quality (although i would enjoy it) but a good average arrow (with elemental or pos/neg/div dmg – why not one dmg point per dmg class?) to shoot would be nice.

I'll do content creation rather than functionality hacking. Areas, monsters, items and bosses are my focus. I would rather avoid any game mechanics stuff if it can be helped because it is just too boring. I will do my best to get the large stacks of arrows back for us however.

The dev crit penalty was easy to put in but an awful waste of time when I could have been making new content for us all instead of managing stupid player exploits. I would rather just remove cheat accounts than bog down the server with ever more scripts to manage bad player behaviour. Very Happy

One ring will be set to continually get destroyed off your finger slot at login then the new one appears in your inventory. That will weed out some of the old versions floating around out there as time goes on. Once re-equipped your precious is then flagged undroppable. No sell, no transfer, no drop.

I've researched the final build of the wizard caster class enough to come up with a forge to give them better parity with superior shield mage sorcerer/paladin/bard type builds:

Ring of Earth, coming soon along with Featur's Ring already discussed
A plain band of blue-grey iron, Oromë equipped his emissary Alatar the Blue Wizard with the Ring of Earth to prepare him for his struggles against the servants of Sauron in the Far East of Middle Earth.

Limit to wizard class

Ring of Korekalwen

ARD (yes the bindstone port tool you forge at Dol Amroth)

Oh yeah and the battle axe of beorn 2 now comes with a stun effect 10% for 4 rounds if a dc 22 will save is failed.

Concerning the one ring: Why are the old versions to be destroyed? i ve created some characters that wear 2 ones because of the stats did stack or because the different ones enhanced the chars in different ways.

Now i m even thinking about forging even one "new one" for new chars... (just because the gathering of the 26 different items (some of them rather hard to find!) isn’t worth making a non-transable item with negative influence.

i was pretty surprised when the ones stats changed the first time. Then i had to adapt my strategy when evolving new characters. Now the stats change again. I ve been building my recent chars on this “mid-old one” (especially HIPS) stats.

And now all should change again? What most hurts is, that making character which use 2 ones wont have more benefits due to the build and to the carried equipment. Having invested very much time in gathering items needed for the forging of a second one wont pay off anymore - all was a waste of time and items - for the one cannot be transferred.

Having a “new one” isn’t too hard to deal with – character creation can be adapted again. But what really – REALLY – hurts is that the old ones will disappear and the old chars have been created basing on the old ones stats.

Therefore I bid of you not to make the old ones be replaced by new ones.

I'm okay with it being both very difficult to construct so people don't wear it on every character and dangerous to run around the world with. Powering it down a bit is another disincentive from having so many of this item in everyone's accounts.

IMO the rings of power especially or other items unique to the book characters should never have gone in the module to begin with. Also, there is enough of an abundance of items that just about any combination of builds and items is possible anyways.

I'm also willing in the coming weeks to have people get rid of their new version One Rings and gear up their character with any alternative kit to fit their build if desired. That way nobody wasted their time collecting stuff for a kit that doesn't work. Although I doubt latest changes would break any build since mind and death immune are still on it.

if you only wanna have one version of the forge items then this help would be most appreciated. Hope to meet you some day - soon enough - , so that the change of the items are planned while a dm is on and not when it "suddenly happens"...

ohhh sounds exiting. How did it happen? have you done a special move (like un-/equip an item) ?

did the "roll-window" show more information?

i mainly play with chars that have the one. nothing by now.
