I dont think we need the weapon exploit. If we want to speed up melee then maybe we can test enabling dev crit. |

Heres the figures in time and heals from Gaven forteress ( I needed an item)
Assume all this chrs are kitten out with the very best gear so for someone who doesnt have this luxury add more time/ heals:
Lv 40 mage : 38 minutes to clear 0 heals used
Lv 40 wep master scythe : 32 mins to clear 0 heals used
Lv 40 wep master dual snappers (without swapping) : 44 mins to clear 0 heals used
lv 40 wep master dual snappers ( with weapon swapping) : 39 mins to clear 0 helas used
lv 38 reincarnate dex character (using axe and shield not swapping weps) : 1h 55 to clear 1 heal used
lv 38 reincarnate dex character (using axe and shield but swapping weps) : 1hr 1 minute 1 heal used
lv 38 dex character using only bow 2 hr 33 to clear 19 heals used and 39 stacks of arrows.
Swapping weps doesnt effect difficulty of the game, and doesnt effect duel weilders times particulary, it just provides a nice TIME boost for low damage dexy characters, that will NOT be played anymore if this is removed. |

Dev crits are good idea but it favours only one specific build - str based fighters and especially weapon masters... What with dex based chars?
Personally i think that this weapon swaping 'exploit' could stay - someone used it and someone not... |

well i actually dont care much about the weapon switch is getting removed or not, i dont use it anyway, but i do use weapon switch to make darkfire on my main weapon, and if that is not possebil to do with the fix u have made serra then i would say please dont remove it.
the dev crit could be nice, but if u still can kill monsters/npc with imune to crit with 1 hit then it would not be good, its so long time since i have tryed dev crit so i have forgot how it works. if it cant kill imune to crit ppl even if they roll a 1 then i dont mind it, then we just could make all the boses imune to crit, bc i dont think it would be good to be abel to kill smaug or other nonimune to crit with 1 hit, but then it wont be fun to use greataxe or other strong on crit hit weapons, bc then u actually cant use it.
btw i have just read the other topics dosent u guys want new areas bc then i would stop making areas, i dont mind new areas, and some of the fixes serra have made is nice fx the door timer and the epic spell fixes, and i know some ppl have asked about new items and a player city, dont u like these improvments? |

attacking a boss with my bow, because im an archer... when boss nears mele range turn to dex weapon... i get turned to stone... my dex goes to -4 my ac drops to 20 i die in 2 hits before i become flesh again...
This truely is the biggest pile of tosh ever |

Ok, I tested it, and it works as intended. You can swap every 5 secs 2 items without consequences in combat. No problem for my archer to switch from bow to dual wield. |

Dull, slow, boring.
2/3rds of the server left this morning after saying what a disgrace the changes were. No chance of doing the new area now as there is noone to party with and from the only person that did do it with serra, apparently its stupidly hard anyhow.
The bow bug does exist you do still get changed to stone, try playing solo as an archer , you need to swap weapons fast get a few hits in then run out to archer range for bow shots.
If the aim was to try and make the game more accessible to newer players, all is lost now, only viable characters are high damage strengh builds and mages. Levelling melee characters with 2 hits per round at low levels is boring and painful beyond beleive with the xp constraints.
Its taking over 2 hours per place to get keys for places like master citadel, with the low chances of drops even when you get there why bother? Leave the spawns and go straight for the boss.
Why was this implemented when EVERYONE expressed concern that it not be touched? all this has done is create a massive problem, reduce numbers on the server and create huge amounts of bad feeling.
Just lost interest in playing this game. |

Dont u see serra, u are tearing the server apart. Well then u can play as u feel like. Dont think that there will be many players left and surely aule isnt running the server for few guys only. As u like Serra.
Keep it going as u like, ur doing great job...

Serra,
Please update the code to remove the change in item swapping. although I don't agree at all with game exploits or bugs, the point of having the server running is to let people play Arda as it is/was. This includes warts and all. I would ask that as we go forward, focus should be on new areas and fixes to non-functional skills (as opposed to just weird ones).
I'll post the updated version tomorrow.

Ok, then lets have player triple their number of attacks again. I respect you Aule and regret that decision. In the past you showed much wisdom in your decisions, maybe you are again right.
I guess you wont have problems removing the few lines in the on_equip script? (module properties->events->on_equip) |
